This is probably not quite what you had in mind, but looking at your artwork of 'carrot people' the following scenery came to my mind:
A freshly baked, over-joyous 'daddy carrot' with stubble, rings under his eyes, wearing a sweaty shirt. He's looking through the large glass window of a maternity ward nursery. The cribs contain tilled earth with the 'baby carrots' being planted in them. Only small orange circles are visible and small carrot leafs are standing out on top. One crib contains two baby carrot (twins). A carrot nurse is walking in with a bottle, but instead of a sucker, it ends in a sprinkler (like on a watering can).
The 'daddy carrot' should say or do something funny or be talking to other 'daddy carrots' present. That center piece would be the hard bit, so I'm leaving it to you. ;)
